Disregard his assumptions on index numbers (or bulbapedia's, for that matter) as they don't mean anything since Gold/Silver internal numbering is different from Red/Green's and all sorts of resortings may have taken place.

I think there was originally going to be 190 before they realised they were running out of space and relegated them to Gold and Silver
