I can beat the hardest tower with Smoke in one sitting.

That said, to compensate I can barely go beyond the 3rd-4th battle in MK2.

I'm not familiar with the Saturn version but between PS1 and N64 I'd say go with the PS1 since you have more shit available. The loading issues are overkill but if you wanted to play something without any issue then you wont be asking to play MKT to begin with.

If you want to play UMK3 the way to go nowadays is the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection version. Is a flawless victory.

It is mostly about Mortal Kombat Trilogy, but a lot of things can be applied to UMK3 (and its SNES&Genesis ports) almost flawlessly. TheUltimateBastich's videos are a solid source about MK information.
