GT. It kept some aspects of tunning scene and combined it with a experience of somewhat actual racing. Also good old "realism".

Try Racing Lagoon. If you can tolerate late 90s edgy storytelling that is. It's one of the greatest "what ifs" in racing genre's history in my opinion.
