Hey everyone!
Quick question and please forgive my ignorance but...

Is there any downgrade in picture quality when playing PSX games on a PS2? This has worried me for a while and kept me from starting my PSX collection until I get the proper console, but if it's possible to simply use my PS2 I can start.

Soooo yeah?

Games that can be played on a smartphone (turn based, low danger) because the controls suck dick.

I just need time to kill during a really long flight.

Hello /vr/.

I bought a *chipped* Playstation about two years ago, love it to hell. Only problem I had with it is that the memory card died. But that's not what I'm here for.

I got two blank CDs and I want you to recommend me some games that might flew under my radar. I own some originals and a bunch of copied ones, so many that is not worthy to list. I, however miss some great classics like Bushido Blade and such. So keep that in mind when recommending that I'm aware and own a lot, and I want some not really obscure and rare but rather fun to play games.
The memory card problem I mentioned earlier can be a holdback, but I'm about to buy one on a swap meet soon.

tl;dr: recommend me some ps games faggots.

The experience of playing PlayStation games for the first time. The entirely different feel, systems, music, graphics, and 90s grit were radically different from what Nintendo and Sega were up to.

Officially, the "s" in PlayStation is capitalized. I've been typing "Playstation" for like 15 years.

As a Nintendo kid, I didn't have a PlayStation growing up. I didn't even touch a Sony console until Christmas of 2002 when I got a PS2, and I've been a Sony fan ever since.

My point is, I feel I missed out on a lot of PSOne classics, since, to my knowledge, the system had a way more expansive library than the Nintendo 64 did. Which games would you recommend to me? For reference, I like platformers a lot and am not a huge RPG fan.

PSOne games I've played:

Parappa the Rapper
Um Jammer Lammy
Metal Gear Solid (I'm a huge Metal Gear fan)
Crash Bandicoot 1 (didn't particularly care for it)
Silent Hill (didn't get very far)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (again, didn't get far at all, haven't played much)

That's about it. Which games have held up and are worth checking out?

Thanks.
