It was that guy who brought up the style thing, not me. I just said it was debatable that SF2 was the best despite how influential it is. I don't dislike SF at all, I just don't like ut as much as KoF and if we're talking style I don't think there's any contest. Take a game like MotW though which doesn't have some of what I think makes King of Fighters shine and I don't t think it compares well to Street Fighter 2 for example. Designs are cool but they don't reallt matter.

I like King of Fighter's large rosters and team battle set ups which make extended play sessions much more interesting and makes for much less predictable match ups. Dodges and rolls add another layer making projectile spam a much less viable option and close range characters don't all have to be balanced specifically to deal with it. Also specials in KoF are often more complex and require more effort and practice. Pulling off a pretzel or even simple orochinagi motion under pressure raises the bar in my opinion and is one of the reasons I have a lower opinion of Mark of the Wolves.

I really only threw that in for being accused of trolling when I was trying to be helpful. If someone wants to put a stick on a mame cabinet for a more authentic feel that's all well and good. But traditionally most people who switch to stick over pad were buying into the idea that it was the best way to play fighters and I was helpfully pointing out that in that case it's a waste of time.

I laghed and used a kiddo because you came back arrogantly at my mention of keyboard. Which if you actually knew what you were talking about, was a genuine suggestion.

Actually pretzels, along with 360s can be done much more easily and quickly. That along with being able to charge charge-moves when it's impossible on a stick or pad is among the reasons they get banned.

Not having 6 face buttons was a big blunder, but I like the DC pad actually more than the Saturn pad. Something about it's small size and the way it handles, I can do things like pretzels much easier and more consistently on a DC pad than any other.

I thought the tightness was a feature. The Saturn pad is solid, but a little big and loose. DC pad is small but I can still do orochinagis and pretzles easier on it than anything else.

I feel bad about your thumbs, but liked Landstalker a lot and never had that problem so I can't sympathize a ton. Now playing King of Fighters on a Sony pad... THAT'S pain.
