yes i absolutely loved it, the new graphics, environments, items, physics, enemies, bosses, menus, map system; everything. very polished. i got to explore the world again and find a bunch of new items, solve puzzles, and find some wild easter eggs. an absolute blast from start to finish.
i grew up on classic Metroid though, and though it is very much improved in a myriad of ways, it is still classic Metroid and still a bit clunkier than the newer entries regardless of how much you improve it.

The majority of rom hacks I see are for various Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy and Megaman games. Check romhacking.net out

One that I started playing recently and think stands out because it's an entirely new game is Metroid Rogue Dawn ( pic related )
