I don't recognize the board you posted, but here is what MikeS' looks like. The final Y/C board looks slightly different.

If you're getting black and white image, double check your ini settings.

read up on this to see if anything else here is useful.

Buying a MiSTer was the biggest mistake of my life. Before getting one, I was able to conform to any kind of software emulation shortcomings such as input delay, having to mess with aspect ratios for certain games, screen tearing for many games and was able to simply enjoy retro games. I had a nice RetroPie setup for my smol CRT, on PC I would play arcade games not compatible on my Raspberry Pi 3B+. Bought a DE-10 Nano board to at least check out the cores that didn't need an SD RAM and loaded up PC Engine. It felt like I was playing the raw game, it's very hard to describe my initial impression but I have never owned a PC Engine and am convinced this must be how it feels. Soldier Blade is a game I practice a lot and by comparison to the PSP compilation and PS3 port, I absolutely refuse to play Soldier Blade on anything other than MiSTer until I get the opportunity to play on actual hardware.

Also, if you plan to play your MiSTer on a composite CRT with no S-Video (or plan to mod it in), absolutely avoid getting the Antonio Villena adapter until MikeS releases his cheaper and more cleaner solution. If you have soldering knowledge, you can add a chroma filter to the Antonio Villena adapter for composite, but unnecessary for S-Video,

Anyone interested in composite output, there is a breakout board that aims to output native analog signal. This is literally what I've been waiting for to happen. I really dislike how many people make the bold claim that something isn't possible on MiSTer and now we have the elusive 32x core and native composite output. I would not be surprised if people make these claims while they work on this stuff in secret so they can claim the patreon income.

I really think it's time for people to stop being this salty about the MiSTer. It really is one of those things where if you can afford it, good for you. If not, at least anything the MiSTer developers figure out then software emulator programmers can work it into their projects for the rest to enjoy.
