in PSO, the items are the showcase really, the game itself is comparable to something like diablo at a base level, but ultimately in diablo 2 for example, the final goal is to be high enough level for your build to work, and the items are basically just stat sticks for that goal.

In PSO, level is simply ancillary to the items that really make PSO what it is, the unique weapons really make this game, even if they aren't all THAT different from the basic saber or gun, the way they attack and how they change your approach to enemies is part of the fun, the levels and mags are just your stat sticks to be able to equip those items.

This isn't so much the case with forces, and I like forces since the techs in the game can be fun too, but ultimately when I replay PSO its always a hunter or ranger I play first because the toys are so much fun.

So for that reason I see the game harder to get into than a more traditional loot game like diablo, where its really just the grind at the end of the day, in PSO you don't get the fun shit til hard or very hard at the least, and that makes playing the first 30-40 levels really boring, since you just deal with generic weapons that aren't that interesting.

When you get to that point PSO is really great, one of the best lootan games, but yeah those initial moments of the game require some tenacity to get through, even for vets of the game.

I doubt that idea hasn't been thought of before, but just in case; have you tried contacting Mike12/HDoomguy? I'm pretty sure he does sprite commissions. Maybe you could work something out.
