Just go to goodwill and buy one that has composite, s-video is a bonus so is component but nice to look out for. Try to not get HD ones cause they're shit. Also don't fall for the PVM RGB meme, consumer TVs are good enough. Afterall, that's how you remember it and it's only 240p or 480i anyway.

Original hardware
---------------------------
Pros:
-Looks cool
-Accuracy
-Feels

Cons:
-Price
-Might need modding and external devices to get best quality out of
-Takes up space
-CABLES
-Requires maintenance

Emulation
----------------------

Pros:
-Literally free
-Easy to get great quality out of
-Takes up no space
-No maintenance
-What cables?

Cons:
-Accuracy
-No feels :(
-Doesn't look cool :(

Sidenote: You can purchase purchase flashcarts which reduce the cost of playing on original hardware significantly although some don't support all games, SNES is an example

>It takes players for intelligent people. It goes by the principle that RPG players will be able to figure things out on their own with the clues given to them.
Yeah, I'm sure they hid all that stuff off-screen or on the world map and gave no clues to the player because they expected them to be clever. It was definitely not done to sell strategy guides.

Hey guys, this is my first time posting here. I'm a student of bachelor degree and I need to create a game. Basically it's just a simple 2d endless running game which is similar to Pepsiman, Temple Run, you know the rest. But mine is, the runner is running through the deepness of the music. Been discussing about this on /mu/ before.

This game is already on the 2nd phase which is character and stage design. The research and sketches are all done. I think Unity Developer is the only platform I have to use to create this game and a few system pack on assets store.

The problem is, where should I start first? I mean, I want the game pixelated just like any retro games, I work alone and there are hundreds of things I need to create/design for the game. The worst thing is, this game must be done in early Jan or late Dec.

Is there any alternative ways I can build this game in 8 bit/pixelated in a short period of time? Pls halp.
