It was such an awesome piece of hardware but there were NO good games on it, holy shit

The video on my Virtual Boy keeps breaking up (it never goes completely to shit but lines and artifacts keep showing up).

Should I bother to get it fixed or just use my HTC Vive to emulate the thing? Would certainly be cheaper but the experience of fixing it might be good to have.

Why does Nintendo still bring up the Virtual Boy from time to time? They happily bury every other failure and disaster they’ve ever had but they are more then ok to meme on themselves when it comes to the Virtual Boy.

I’ve played pretty much all the failed hardware but this one is my fave.

Anyone know a Virtual Boy Emulator for 3DS? I wanna create a sort of Virtual Boy Virtual Console and the 3DS is the best candidate. If there aren't any is there any for PSVR

The Virtual Boy is terrible for display issues. The ribbon cables that connect the LED displays to the motherboard are held on with glue, which goes bad over the years. This can cause a lot of problems, most commonly bright red horizontal lines across the screen, scrambled graphics, brightness issues, displays that don't work at all, etc. The only solution is to solder the ribbon cables to the board. I can't solder to save my life, but thankfully it turns out there are some VB fanatics out there you can send the ribbon cables to and they'll do the soldering for you for like $25.

All 3 Virtual Boys I've owned over the years eventually developed these issues. They're all fixed now, but damn, what a stupid design choice.

now guys this is a fucking long shot but i remember playing a kiosk demo of a virtual boy game of what i think was snes super mario world. but i cant find any games like it on the system what the hell did i play as a kid.
