JP-only Bomberman 64 is a classic 2D bomberman with 4 player mode.

It's a good game, but I prefer the Goemon games myself.
Did you play the Japan-exclusive 2D Bomberman 64?

What about the OTHER Bomberman 64?
IMO one of the best in the series, not as good as the Super or Saturn Bombermans, but it's up there after those. It also gets extra points for being 4-players without the need on multitap.

Best 5th gen Bomberman after Saturn Bomberman.
Extra points for native 4 player mode without the need of a multitap of course.

The "Bomberman 64" we got in the west is called differently in Japan.
Japan got another Bomberman title called "Bomberman 64" that's not a 3D game like the others, but a classic 2D Bomberman. It was one of the last releases on the system, in 2001.
The best thing is obviously the native 4 player mode which doesn't require any multitap unlike previous games in the series.

They have a traditional VS mode, but the games themselves are single player 3D platformer-action games.
The only one that's actually 2D traditional Bomberman is the Japan-only Bomberman 64 from 2001.
