You're talking about an interpretation of a character the original creators had nothing to do with, and which appeared exclusively on two pages of a strategy guide released in an entirely different country. It is as close to fanfiction as a piece of official media can get.
I could just as easily say that the only true Samus is the one from the 1994 manga Marumaru to Marumaru who wears pretty dresses and likes going on long walks in flowery fields and be no less wrong.
