At the time, I played through Tokimeki Memorial, Sakura Taisen, and Mitsumete Knight, so I thought Thousand Arms would be more of the same to enjoy. There wasn't much like it released in the US at the time. It does seem like what was once termed "womanizer" protagonists such as Meis or Rance is acceptable to be so overt in games anymore.

I paid that $2USD S&H for the disc and poster. Even partook in the website set up for the game. I think I was interested since I played the Sakura Wars and Tokimemo games at the time. Never did finish the game because the damn 1001 console started having problems reading discs.

MGS, Symphony of the Night, any of the Squaresoft games, R4, RE series, Silent Hill, Klonoa, Valkyrie Profile, Rival Schools, Strider 2, Bloody Roar, there's just so much available. Just pick what catches your eye, there were a lot of great games made for the system.

I remember the website for US Thousand Arms ... must've been a big mistake for Atlus USA.

They had a "ask the characters (of Thousand Arms) anything" ... and they'd get questions to the green-haired girl like "does the carpet match the drapes?" to which the response was "I prefer bare floors". I like to think that behind those words of the characters was some poor dude from Atlus USA was the one answering, beating down all the horny teenagers thinking it was a girl behind the characters, and probably committed suicide afterwards.

Also, does your copy of Thousand Arms feature duplicate pages in the instruction manual? It makes it double the thickness and more glossy art pages. Feels like a printer/binding error in our favor.

Say, can anyone post the gif of a guy walking through an earthquake where the cars are shaking like crazy. It was a funny joke on how PlayStation renders its wobbly polygons and I wish I had saved it.

Great to know! I have a strange suspicion the 5501s have inflated in price with that knowledge but I still will be on the lookout.

That's the followup Eternal Blue. It came with a bit more junk like a pendant making the package look bigger. I still lament the EB worker forgot to give me the Ghaleon hand puppet for preorder.

I would love to get a PSPgo, since I read that it can be synched up with a controller so that I can play the games on a TV/monitor. The price of them are pretty high over $100 in my area. I was more focused on getting a UMD playing device with component out at the time so I opted for a 2000 model without thinking of the possibilities of the Go. So I am stuck with the expensive prospects of that or the PSIO now.

It was a disc that showcased the strong launch of the system and set the tone for the fun to be had throughout the system's life cycle. It had Jumping Flash, ESPN/ESPN2 Xtreme Games, Toshinden, and Wipeout playable alongside videos of Philosoma, Destruction Derby, Ridge Racer, Twisted Metal, etc. Fortunately, I was gifted games to go with the system at launch, but it was strange that the system came with only 1 controller, unlike the NES and SNES I had before.

Yep, from the launch window of the system. I was surprised I still had the box. Sadly I do not have my original system. I read that model had a pretty nice chipset, but I knew it for its overheating or disc read issues. I remember its dying days desynching the songs from Bust A Move 2: Dance Tengoku Mix from the gameplay, meaning it was impossible to play.

I'm actually pretty jealous. I remember my 1001 fondly, but eventually it had a prolonged death forcing me into getting then-budget Saturn games. Its library is pretty impressive as even with the Saturn being my primary system for multiplats such that I still have more for the original PS than of the PS2 and even less of PS3 (partly because I mostly chose multiplats on 360 for that round).

It looks like you chose wisely for the games you already have. I would say get Final Fantasy Tactics as that is one of my most favorite games on the system I keep revisiting. Best part with the game is its price is very low even to this day. I will second Silent Hill as well as it is pretty intense.

I thought the original Playstation cannot utilize the PS2's component cables. It does output RGB on the AV Multi out port.

Back then I had a perfectly sized spring that goes onto the plastic piece to the button which indicates a closed lid, for the swap method. That's how I originally played imports on the 1001. Never utilized the parallel nor serial ports. The Gameshark is a pretty good thing to have I suppose.

No, the sealed game is Mezase Senkyuu-ou (a.k.a. Battle Balls). I opened Rakugaki Showtime to play it back when it came out, I just happened to keep its original cellophane (the spine card is behind the manual). Battle Balls was an amazing game set to free play at a local arcade, and it was only $10 sealed. Rakugaki Showtime, sadly, we only played 2-player because we didn't have the 4-player adapter at the time.

Nope, far from a well balanced individual. Poor as fuck and on 4-chan. I'm just hungry for (You)s and taking advantage of the image part of an image board.

As mentioned it is a repost of an older pic I took for a different thread. I try to repurpose some older pictures for convenience sake. So here's one I just took, which sadly I have no US Playstation game which has not been rereleased, ported, and/or exclusive ... aside from Thousand Arms.
