Fusion's storyline didn't downgrade Samus into a weaker character. So what point are you trying to make about the writing? The writing was superb, I thought.

Fusion is far more linear than Super Metroid. However, it's not as linear as people make it out. See the map to the left? Those green places are areas NOT marked on your map. You know, areas the game does NOT tell you how to reach?
