Let me tell you something i go on /jp/ and have been on the visual novel translation thread for almost 5 years now. I have seen every single person who comes on the scene who has this mindset that MTL is acceptable, edit parts out and then it looks like a garbled mess. When in that same span of time the person could have learned Japanese and actually came out with something more decent or break into the industry itself. Sekai Project has had this mindset and they have not released much Visual Novels in the past 4 years even Moege visual novels that are usually written with a middle school language level, while Mangagamer has released a lot and is on the verge of translating Rance and Higurashi. My whole thing is like this person here >>6333952 is that there is no shortcuts to great translation, only daily practice, immersion and basically patience.

I think what you mean is that others are telling you its not as easy as they say it is. Yes there is the crabs in a bucket mentality but there is also those who are pragmatic and live in the world of reality.
