The single player mode is better, but MK64 has better multiplayer. Especially Battle Mode.

It was kinda magical as a kid, loved the hub world. Replaying it as an adult it feels smaller, but it's still comfy and sets it apart from other kart racers.

I'd say Diddy Kong Racing has the better single player (Adventure mode is awesome), but multiplayer in 64 is way more fun. Especially Battle Mode. I don't like how tapping A in DKR makes you go faster either, constantly tapping gets old.
