I posted the PSP Go the other day. I got the component cables and a Dualshock 3 controller and tried getting it all set up.
Turns out it's really finnicky trying to get direct capture going. The PSP has an oddball resolution, and my capture card really doesn't like that. Whenever I try to set it up in OBS it struggles to find the input, and then my whole PC goes through a BSOD. I didn't understand why this wasn't working for me when it looks like everybody else can manage it just fine. Then I found out that having an analog-capable capture card is rare among youtubers, they were all feeding the PSP through a Retrotink or OSSC to convert it to a normal HDMI signal that their elgatos can handle.
I don't have anything like that, so I had to use an ancient piece of software that nobody ever uses anymore in order to get the PSP captured: AmaRec. It actually works too because with AmaRec it can handle the resolution and signal feed in a way that OBS simply doesn't. Kind of works anyways, you can see here that it doesn't look right on AmaRec's feed so I still need to go into OBS and do a window capture to fix it, though it's fine because I was going to have to crop it in due to the way PSP games get letterboxed into the center anyways. It's ridiculous and a whole bunch of shit to get through in order to just capture a fucking PSP for youtube videos. But this works, and I can even use the preview window to play the games directly.

The worst part though? AmaRec can't handle the resolution switch when playing PS1 eboots, so I can't even use the PSP to capture PS1 games. If anyone has experience with this horseshit, please let me know.
