Admittedly haven't bought it myself due to it being the holiday season, as I'm more on a budget with all the gifts I gotta buy. Despite that, I've seen plenty of YouTube reviews regarding these kinds of systems, and the Retroid Pocket 2 here seems to be one of the more appreciated ones. It runs off of Android with the emulators preinstalled, with the OS allowing different emulators or source ports to be manually added if you so desired.

If the Android OS is a bit too much of a turn off for you though, I've heard of a different handheld called RG351P (or RG351M if you wanna spend $40 extra on metal casing). It's a bit more expensive (costs about a hundred bucks), but it uses EmulationStation as it's front end so that you'll have a more smooth and visually consistent experience UI wise. You can install replacements for it if you'd prefer a different look of to it, and it also generally performs the same as the Retroid Pocket 2 as well.
