/vr/ - Retro Games

A bit on the hand-holdy side save for some of the more "out there" sidequests. Didn't much care for the Yo'ster Isle sequences truth be told.

Still a fantastic game though.

Just sit back, relax, and punch some Goombas.

Sometimes I just like to rack up a huge debt at the hotel in Marrymore or whatever.

Like, half the god damn bosses. I guess they aren't that hard if you're just spamming geno beam or have grinded a bunch or something, but I can remember a few guys in this game giving me the business.

I'm currently playing through pic related for the first time. holy shit this game is great, can't believe I've missed out on it this long.
What are its sequels like?

Do you like this game? I just started playing it for the first time. Why is Mallow a frog yet he doesn't even look like a frog and they even say he doesn't look like a frog in the game? What's the point of that?

What was your preferred party in this game, and why?

I always went Peach and Bowser.

Peach for that obvious White Mage usage, Group Hug is essential. I'm pretty sure most people use her.

It really boils down to Bowser or Geno.

I've always gone with Bowser. He had a lot of cool, fun weapons, and was a beast. His Special Attacks were never that good, but his standard ones were great, and that's what I really used for the most part.

I couldn't figure Geno out. What's his game? Are his specials really good later in the game? When you get him, he just doesn't seem all that powerful (and I could never figure out the timing for his Finger Shot).

I don't know anybody who kept using Mallow.

Firstly i'm going to admit, I am possibly the hugest dumbass on the entire fucking planet.

Let me just tell you a quick story.

I live in the UK so I buy have a modded snes to run all region games, cheaper than importing both US and Jap snes's.

I then buy Super Mario RPG and put it in and it doesnt work. Turns out it's one of the only games that doesnt work with a modded console and you need an authentic US Snes.

So I read online there is a trick mod the cart to play on a Modded console and I think "Fuck, I did electronics in High School, I should be able to solder ok? Right?"

Wrong.

I fucked it up bad ajnd regretted it ever since. I did eventually borrow my friends American SNES and play another copy I bought and loved it, but now I have a broken one on my shelf.

How easy would it be to maybe fix it? Is it possible to fix? Is it worth it? Any suggestions.

Also i'm not at my place at the moment so I can't take any pictures i'm sorry but I remember that I put too much solder on it and got solder over some of the pins of the main region chip.
