As for Stalin I guess Red Alert was a great series. Same theme.

One game that I also love from microsoft halcyon pc days is Starlancer, it had a really great alt history cold war turned hot but in space. It had really corny 90s characters but was well written and enjoyable setting.

I like it much more than wing commander.
