I did think I did great in the game beating it on the hardest difficulty setting, but I think it was a bug because it is labeled incorrectly where it is much more challenging choosing the easier settings.

It is the oldest edition and lacks all the new stuff it got in later releases like more cutscenes, widescreen support, and more. The calendar is outdated printed for the year 2000 which makes it less worthwhile now. Even the pocketwatch has no place in usage as well now, so the limited edition of Valkyrie Profile really does have its own Ragnarok doomsday.

Calendar, art book, and pocketwatch. It is not as heavy as the Arc the Lad pocketwatch, but I like it more. The calendar is outdated but still has nice art. The artbook pretty much has the images in the game of the characters.

I thought I did. I cheated myself by playing through it originally with a FAQ. I like it enough that I am curious to what they added in Lenneth, but I could never bring myself to play Lenneth. I still think it is a good game, good enough that I got the release with the pocketwatch, calendar, and artbook. I like the story and setting. The battle mechanics are pretty fun too.

Angram/Aluzzi will always be a bro.

I think a lot of people, at that time in the US, preferred Square, and blamed Enix for all that is bad with SquareEnix. To this day, that sentiment seems to have persisted.

Shit, editing my post which was too long had me wipe out certain questions/anecdotes:

I currently use a PSone, PS2 (slim), PS3 (CECHA00 the backwards compatibility one) for original PS games. Would a 5501 provide any better? Is there a benefit or negative factors to the methods I currently have for original Playstation games?

I learned the hard way without a memory card after my whole family spent it all on a plain PlayStation. It happened when someone lent me Resident Evil. I had to ironman play the game without saves. I will say my first encounter with those frog things ripping Jill/Chris' head clean off was pretty upsetting as they showed up about 33% the way through the game. However, due to those circumstances, I got good at it such that I refused all ink ribbons freeing up a slot and knifing zombies to death without getting damaged. Even still, I'd still rather have a memory card then, and they were not cheap at first either.

I am fine knowing that new generations of kids will enjoy the games I enjoyed. Their experience with the games are unique to them, as mine was different. I don't need to see Frog take the Masamune to slice open a mountain in animated form then watch the same thing happen again with the in-game sprites, that was not how I remember the game, but those extra dungeons are unique to their experience and was not part of mine. I remember leaving Luna behind, whereas that's not how the story goes for everyone else. I did not know Mustadio had a thing for Agrias, not how it went for me in my day. I never got to experience that Cecil and Rosa had kids that had their own adventures, it was just up to my imagination. I am at peace with my fond memories, even when they are not definitive. Good for the kids.

I did recently get a PSP, but I no longer have the time as I once did to enjoy these games now.
