Probably Chrono Trigger. It's the first one I remember playing. That or FF7.

I agree with >>1640347. The whole FF series is what I think when I hear "RPG", and the first game set the standard for the series. It's not my favorite, but it's the foundation.

Hard to pick just a few. Just about anything from Chrono Trigger, FF7 or 9. Super Mario RPG also had some pretty rad music.

Probably FF9. I really love the art design of that game.

Purcahsed Final Fantasy IX on playstation store for $9.99. Worth every cent, so much childhood happiness to revisit.
