Has anyone managed to create a virtual self-booting HDD with Project Melancholia's SD Snatcher translation? I tried to, but I couldn't even extract the files from the disks.

Who knows man, all those SD games at the time just seemed weird managerial decisions
>These graphs show that kids are into SD now, give me SD games Parker!
I never actually played SD Snatcher, I heard that the fan translation that's out there is really really poor.

And here's one for SD Snatcher.

So with SD Snatcher having gotten a new translation recently, I'm looking to get back into MSX emulation. I haven't tried to emulate it in at least a decade though, so what's the main standard these days? Any glaring incompatibilities or weaknesses? Is RuMSX still cool? I remember it being pretty spiffy, definitely the nicest interface of the ones available back in the day.
