Right, and my point is: so does is the Sunsoft, except it's a Gen 3 action platformer instead. A good one, but one nonetheless. And you have to admit it's one hell of a skin, you can really tell the people who handled the art for one had seen the show; the fact they included Freeze as the final boss and threw fan favorite Mad Hatter an awesome stage makes me suspect they might have even been fans. Way, way more faithful than the mishmash of action game assets in the Sunsoft game, which look like they could have been in any Ninja Gaiden type.

Me too I can't even tell what point he's trying to make anymore. If it's a defense of the MD's sound by saying people "fixed it" later, it's very dismissive of the fact this sounded amazing, and it's buying into the narrative of those shitters that say all Genesis games sound bad whilst having listened to three their whole life. Back then before people fiddled with anything, I remember being blown away by how the console sounded, playing Shinobi was like having a fucking arcade in my house, when all the reference we had was bleeps and bloops it was really impressive.
