I just used a piece of tape on my Wario Land 3 cart battery. Makes it easier to swap it too.

I did this without ever picking up a soldering iron before after watching a youtube video. I replaced 3 GBA batteries and 2 gameboy ones. The hardest part was finding a youtube video not made by a retard full of misinformation. I borrowed someone's soldering iron so now I'm in the market for one.

I'm not very smart either. Watch out for the fumes.

Yep, I remember Dendy consoles mixing up square wave frequencies in the audio and making the jump sound in SMB very off.
You're not completely right about NOACs though. The VRT series chips are actually quite accurate, have a decent color palette and support mappers like VRC6, hell you can play fds games on it. You can also make it 60Hz NTSC by soldering on a jumper and replacing the crystal resonator. The only clones I know of that use this chip are the Subor branded clones, you can still get them new I think. I'd say it's superior than emulation on a pc imo. Though you might as well just get the real thing at that point.
If anyone's interested, I'll leave here this link to VRT website, they document all their stuff. I'm absolutely sure everything is discontinued though.
