it's oddly satisfying
you hear "3D or first-person dungeon crawler" and expect to be playing some boring, methodical PC-style Wizardry-clone but PS1 is smooth-scrolling goodness. Helps that the soundtrack really pumps you up to explore every nook and cranny:

The remade versions of these in PS4 also sound amazing, and kinda makes you wish they had brought back the 3D dungeon gameplay they originally planned to do (picrel).
