A thread like this simply cannot happen without mentioning Pokemon gens 1-3. I wish they still did this for the new games.

is there an actual point in there being different versions of the same game? or is it just marketing?

is there a point in playing them all or is it enough to play just one?

not just for pokemon by the way, just in general when this or something similar happens.
