Give up. It's not like learning italian or french.
Not because the grammar it's hard, it's easy, but because fucking kanji and fucking phonetic poverty.
It's a painful process, it takes years and basically requires you to NEED to learn it, just having a marginal interest isn't enough, you need real motivation.
If you're still not convinced, grind kanji with anki a couple of months and let's see how you can keep with that.
