There's not much for that, but there actually is a mod floating around somewhere on youtube called Top-Down Doom or something.

Also, for a contra-like gameplay experience there's Action Doom, too.

About every 9 out of 10 games I play are /vr/ related. I have a ton of catching up to do. But it seems no matter how much I play the backlog just continues to grow since I find out about 3-4 new games each week I missed out on. There are some major ones I still haven't gotten around to (Doom), but it's hard to do everything with 30 years' worth of games out there. So I'm curious how much you guys have in your to do list and how often you get one crossed off.

Realistically I've made a list of over 200 games I still want to get around to playing, and a lot of those are old RPGs or something that will take some time. I'm looking at probably 8 years worth of material here, not to mention all the new games being released I have to make room for too. I will probably never get caught up. But I guess it's supposed to be in the journey, not the destination.
