I will admit Get Point is really fucking hard to do correctly (>Oh hey, a bee medal! >800 points x 1 chain >FFUUUUU--) but you have to admit it's well thought-out. Other CAVE games have better scoring as well, Ketsui (During the first loop at least) is a good example.

Also, be glad it's not as retarded as say, Battle Garegga.

Or any of the abominations Yagawa has made, for that matter. He literally never playtests his games, in fact. Do people actually play Pink Sweets: After Ibara in arcade mode? And WHY?!

Also, Takumi is top tier with scoring systems. And Yotsubane, but Crimzon Clover's scoring system seems to be at least somewhat inspired by Takumi's games.

What are your favorite shmup ships playstyle-wise? Mine would be either Type-A-EX from Dodonpachi (I wish Saidaioujou allowed you to play Type-A in the arrange mode...it would've worked wonders with that gauge system at least, and who wouldn't mind Shuri's banter?), or Type-III from Crimzon Clover For NESiCAxLive.

As for sidescrollers, Aryustailm from Blazing Star, though there are a lot of improvements it could potentially make.

General preferences -
- Lasers > Vulcans > Missiles
- Anti-Air > Anti-Land > Anti-Sea
- Attack Power > Movement Speed > Defensive Spread
- Front Shot > Wide Shot > Homing Shot
