Wow so you mean to tell me that a 31khz monitor will accept 31khz signals? Wow, this is a real game changer. When people say 480i they're referring to NTSC standard timings, like what you'd get out of a PS2. So when you tell people that VGA monitors support 480i with the caveat of doubling the refresh rate, without mentioning that part, you're spreading misinformation. That Microvitec 1438 is what I was talking about when I said old monitors. That is an exception and it wont go much above 31khz, only up to 34kh according to the specs I found but some claim it'll do 40khz.

Also, it's not the monitor deinterlacing, it's windows not supporting interlaced very well. Note the active resolution isn't right. You can absolutely run an interlaced resolution that's within spec. PS2 with a component to RGBHV transcoder or just running RGsB on a compatible monitor for example will do 1080i without deinterlacing. AMD cards will generally do interlaced without much trouble. Nvidia cards can do it on older drivers but it takes some finagling to get working.
