>tfw spent my teenage years from 2001 to 2008 buying up old games from friends
>boxes of NES, SNES, Genesis, Turbografx 16, Gameboy and Game Gear
>getting stacks of like 20-30 games plus consoles for like 50 bucks
>friends were so willing to get rid of the old stuff just for the price of a single new Xbox/PS2/Gamecube game
Even during those days the only new games I was playing were on GBA, I've just always liked 2D game design sensibilities more and have gravitated towards earlier stuff. In the long run I've just ended up with the games that I ultimately wanted so it feels bretty gud right about now. Also back in those years there was more than one occasion where friends or family would just give me a box of stuff for free that they didn't want anymore.
