The only models with that description that could be considered remotely worth that much are the larger Super Fine Pitch WEGAs, namely the XBR910/960 and XS955 and even that'd be a bit of a stretch.

You can get Hi-Scans with HDMI or DVI for <$30, and they don't look that bad either.

Nice for 6th Gen+ and general use, but not for retro.

What specific model was it?

I can tell you that you paid $5 less than I did a year ago, and that yours is possibly still working correctly unlike the one sitting in my office right now.

http://www.mediafire.com/view/ajf2pmw3oglvk5x/ Service Manual

3 S-Video/Composite In (1 front, 2 back)
1 Composite In
2 Component In
1 HDMI in with a set of Stereo Audio Inputs

1 Composite Out that only works for Composite inputs
1 Stereo audio out

Supports 480p, 720p, and 1080i over Component and HDMI. 480p over HDMI is a bit jumpy on my set, but I can't say that all of them do that.
Hi-Scan model, so the tube has a horizontal resolution of 853px or so. Gamecube games over component look great, PS3 and Wii U look pretty good as well.

Obviously not the best option for retro, being that it scales 480i(and as such 240p) signals up to something it can work with, but it doesn't look too bad. Based on 240p Test Suite's lag test and compared to the PVM while feeding 480i composite to both, it has 2-3 frames of input lag.

Really wish I knew exactly what was wrong with mine and how to fix it. Think it's having a problem maintaining stable voltage; When it actually agrees to turning on, the picture size varies widely based on the brightness of the screen. Lamp code is 7 flashes, if anyone has some suggestions/ideas outside of the diagnoses listed in the manual above.

Megaman X Command Mission in 480p from the Gamecube.
