So I bought one of those £44 new-old-stock Maxim tellies on ebay. I have a nice PVM 20L4, but there's no way it'll fit on my desk. It has two inputs, SCART (Thankfully RGB) and Composite. Immediate issues are the geometry and the shit speakers. A quick search found me the code for the service menu which fixed 99% of the geometry problems, shit speakers are avoided with a SCART S-Video/Audio breakout I had lying around. For whatever reason, it allows you to increase vertical size but not horizontal size. So far the only game this has really made this noticeable is Metal Slug on the Saturn. I recall reading something about the NeoGeo version not using the cabinet's full horizontal space.

The quality is alright - Maxim was always that shit brand they sold at Curry's, and I definitely prefer the PVM. But it's 4:3, came with next day delivery, and I didn't have to deal with the tossers at the British Heart Foundation. All-in-all I'd recommend it.
