What systems are you interested in? You could probably just get something like an X6 instead if you just want the vertical form factor.

It is probably my favorite style as well. Can't go wrong with classic Game Boy style handhelds.

If the X5 and X6 were just slightly cheaper I would probably by myself one. I might still buy myself a PMP IV at some point though

X5 is the six-button with one joystick, X6 is the four button with two sticks. They look a bit like the R35S or the D-007 but only go up to SNES and GBA like most of the other "X Series" handhelds. No SEGA CD, TurboGrafx, or PS1, but if you just want a quick Game Boy or 16-bit machine they should get the job done.
