I began wondering about it by looking at Balmaint, but I thought it was just my impression due to his huge hair, Leonard seems more proportioned and the only one that really gives it away is Taria and maybe Silvia, it doesn't help that characters have very different bodies so they hide it well, see Kaspar and Urpina.

It was a reference to Sentai shows, Kawazu wanted to make Red's storyline a bit meta by adding that sequence as if playing Red's story was like watching a Sentai show, which is pretty fun if you think about the little girl in Tanzer being an Alkaiser fangirl, Alkaiser is himself kind of a in-game celebrity lorewise so it makes sense for the game to joke about it.

You better play the other games if you haven't already, Frontier is probably the most quirky but all the others have their own charm.

The last SaGa game will have Kawazu as full powered final boss, with as many turn actions as the number of SaGa games, debuff immunity, an Overdrive/Quicktime counter, Parry and access to the moveset of all previous SaGa bosses.

There's decent ENG patches for both the DS remakes.
