It is also a very impressive looking game too. A technical showcase, maybe by faking technologies in sprite form, but still very cool to see for PCE. Wish I had an Arcade card in its day but missed out and it became unaffordable fast, but glad to have played it through emulation.

Granted, the majority of the games I like on the PC-Engine are CD-based, and they could be burned. The HuCard/TurboChip games has the Turbo Everdrive which work as well.

I couldn't afford Sapphire either. The repro of it is also expensive too. You will also need the appropriate Arcade Card in addition to the CD addon in order to play Sapphire.

The PC-Engine is one of those cases where the clone console is mroe expensive than the real thing. The Retro Freak runs about $250 prior to shipping and taxes, and I already have the Duo and Express from my youth, so a repair would be more cost effective.

I looked it up and Game-tech.us has not accepted any orders/repair request for 4 years now and Voultar does not do the Duo at this time either. I also have to save up since the listed prices do not include shipping to/from the repair technicians. The cost is very high and the wait lists are long.

This is depressing that I can't afford reproduction copies now. Rondo is one of the games I wish I bought for my Duo. I just borrowed it from my friend back in the day and I really loved the game, but her brother stole it and probably sold it away for drugs or something.

I still want the Saturn SOTN because I remembered Maria's moveset was very different. She learned martial arts, which I think makes her more interesting than her keeping the same moves from her childhood, as if she actually grew up. In this version, she retains her animal tossing ways of her loli past.
