Secondly, learn to opposite brake, it's very useful with heavier craft.
Thirdly, try not to oversteer. A lot of problem newcomers face is smashing the airbrakes like a madman on every corner and continuously destabilzing themselves. The lighter the ship and the slower the class, the less you use them. You shouldn't be using airbrakes at all until rapier.
