Wow, there's tons of great games in this thread. Many many of my favorite obscure imports have already been mentioned.

...But not my personal favorite.

Love & Destroy is a mech action game developed by Inti Creates, of Mega Man Zero fame. Don't let that turn you off though, as this is one of their two truly original games, the other being Speed Power Gunbike. Anyhow, it's a mech action game with a lite dating sim, and anime cutscenes and designs by Masakazu Katsura of Video Girl AI fame. It's also simply one of the most technically impressive games ever made for the PS1. It features proper dual-analog controls like Omega Boost, high framerates, entirely animated and entirely destructible cities a la EDF, giant boss fights, incredible music, and a slick sense of style that's both very representative of the nineties, and yet nowhere else to be found.

It's a short game, and the vast majority of it takes place in the action segments. The anime cutscenes at least let you look at the girl's boobs, so you don't have to worry about being confused if you don't know Japanese.

Recommended for all fans of mecha and women.
