Does anyone here really like Might and Magic, particularly the older ones (1-5)?

What do you like about them? I don't find them that engaging but I'm playing them now not then. I imagine them having a similar appeal to DragonQuest.

I love the style of this game. It was pretty much what made me play it, and I never really played any of these turn-based party cRPGs. I tried the first Wizardry and M&M, they were extremely tedious and unplayable for me.

Anyway, post your experiences and some tips for a noob in the genre. I've been killing the monsters outside of down and got everyone on levels 4-5. I still can't beat those damn rats in Fountain Head.
