I know this thread's probably been done a hundred times, but fuck it. Is there anything good on this thing besides Sonic CD? I don't really wanna get one and give my Genesis a tumor, but I'm not opposed to emulating some of the good games, if there are any.

James can make fun/interesting stuff, but >>2810497 is spot on. He obviously plays up his "gamer identity" for money; I definitely buy that he has fun with some games and likes playing them every once in a while, but he's clearly not huge on them at all. The hivemind hate for Mike is funny since that guy actually seems more legitimately into games than James.

What bothers me, though, is that he doesn't point out enough that his AVGN persona is a stupid character and that these are not meant to be "earnest reviews, but with jokes". He last point that out... what, 7 years ago? His "informative" segments and attempts to make up for things he said in the past instead of just saying "AVGN isn't me, don't take this shit seriously" further confuses people so I can't entirely blame his audience.

His Sega CD video was particularly bad and stupid. Yeah it wasn't the best system to own back then, but now there's still fun you can have with it if you buy it for cheap or emulate it. He was clearly just looking for reasons to call it a piece of shit and now a brand new generation thinks there are no good Sega CD games aside from the one or two games he listed in his video for it.

My Sega CD should be coming in the mail later today.
In the meantime, what games should I burn for it? Also looking for some interesting romhacks if there are any.

Quick question: I noticed the CD has stereo A/V out. Does it process the hardware audio any differently than a standalone genesis (like how the 32x has a separate video encoder)?

Sega CD thread. Favorite games or other things regarding the system? I'm looking to get one within the next month and also wondering what I should know.

Any noticeable performance difference between the model 1 and 2 Sega CDs?

Will burnt games harm the Sega CD unit? I've heard that games burned to CDs can fuck up Dreamcasts, but I don't know about the CD.

So I'm trying to burn ISOs for the Sega CD and I'm getting coasters every time. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Should I be using cues instead?

I'm using isos from coolrom, and a mark 2 scd. It boots up real games, but not burned ones.

What do /vr/?
