Laugh at me all you want, as a 5 year old trying to play this without rings, was an insane anxiety panic attack
Also the Barrel, had to play as Knuckles on the PC version to get past since he got to basically skip half of Carnival Night Zone and it's infamous barrel.

When I was ten I spent close to an hour trying to get to the final boss. I used up some lives and a continue trying to beat the metal sonic. After I beat him i thought I finally beat the game until Robotnik started running towards the actual final boss. I died trying to hit it and got a game over.
