Most of the hate in mainly because of the creator of BD and the fans. Who held the mod as "the perfect way to play Doom". Which is not true at all because it tends to make at least 90% of the maps unbalanced.
Also the amount of features that are not really polished and overall it feels cluttered sometimes.
I don't hate the mod, I really like it but far from being the best
