I grew up in burgerland with burgerland snes in my teen years. I love it and would never replace it's iconic design. Even so, I love the SFC and own one just because of how sleek and sexy it looked.

>NES: Japan=toy US=High tier AV look

What did Nintendo mean by this? I'm seriously curious what brought about the change of heart?

Pic related is one of my favorite Genesis designs, too bad they crippled it with mono audio and lack of 32x/cd compatibility. It's a damn fine little unit overall though. I remember buying mine on clearance for $19.99 back in the day. I still have the box.

I just wanted to pass some info along. It appears the REV 2 of Genesis 3 model does indeed support rgb out of the box. I've been researching this a lot and it seems to be a common misconception that's been around for years, to the point it's hard to find the truth.

REV 1 didn't support RGB, but needed a mod to do so. REV 2 does support it. I've hooked my genesis 2 SCART cable up and it's native RGB.

The only downside is that it's dual mono audio. The way I figure it is, I don't listen with headphones and don't have surround sound. By the time the sound reaches my ears, it's pretty much mixed anyway. If you have to be super autist about it, you can mod it for stereo, but it's a real bitch.

Here is a pic of the mod: https://web.archive.org/web/20071009065732/http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b134/Segasonicfan/Gen3Inst.jpg and quoted from an almost dead site:

>Now onto the stereo mod-
The main CPU outputs 3 different audio channels that are combined together before going to the LM324 opamp and then onto the output jack. The 3 channels are labeled above as left, right, and sound effects. By disconnecting the one resistor shown above you get Left audio output at line level. To get a correct audio right output you need to amplify the audio right channel to line level. I did so by using another LM324 quad opamp. If the sound isn't perfectly balanced you can use pots to adjust the levels to your liking.

Happy RGB-meming fellow anons.
