I fucking love Battletoads. I recently bear it and it was one of the most satisfying things I've ever done. The game might be punishing as all hell but it is fair for the most part. I'm sure if this game didn't have great art and music it wouldn't be as tolerable though.

I went in think that the turbo tunnels were a casual filter and that the rest of the game was fine, little did I know the whole game is a casual filter. Volkmire's Inferno is genuinely unfair.

Had this as a kid and hated it. Tried 1000s of times but could never get past the hoverbikes. It's a shame because it had a really interesting style and the first three levels (first half of 3) were amazing. The game only gets more ridiculous and broken later on. This was a video game targeted for children, what the fuck were they thinking?

Any other games with as much varied gameplay as this?
