You have to be ignorant to believe this is only an American thing. Gore and porn is on of the easiest genres to sell and market for mass appeal in any part of the world. Humans love seeing other humans suffering, some of it is twisted satisfaction and some of it is morbid curiosity.

The lack of Japanese PC games in this thread is quite surprising honestly, there's some real weird stuff from there in the 80's and 90's. Here's an image of a pretty famous one called Lolita Syndrome, a simulator where you undress and torture little anime girls. It's become kind of known thanks to the fact that it was published by Enix, who started out publishing trashy stuff like this.

Tried looking it up and I was correct, it was a PC-88 game called "Lolita Syndrome". I couldn't find any footage of it online but I found a small imagur gallery with a few screenshots. Weirdly enough fucking Enix made this game.
