shock troopers 1 had two waifus (three if you count the gigantic black woman)

I've been ripping sprites from Shock Troopers 1, and I've found a bunch of things that could be either unused content or in-game secrets.
Specifically, I've found that all the playable characters have a single "summer outfit" sprite frame that I haven't seen anywhere, most of them in one of their stage clear victory poses. I also found sprites for two laser gun pickups, none of which I ever found in any of the game's 3 routes (could be a very rare enemy drop?). Latstly, I also found a small military ship with small rocket pods and a turret, complete with water animations and a damaged state, although I couldn't find the right palette for it (and there's several thousand to scroll through).
This all leads to one theory I have that perhaps there's secret paths that nobody has discovered yet, since there is one that I found in the last valley route stage that leads to a tank factory and a mini boss instead of the alleys straight to the stage's main boss.
If anyone's willing to help find more about this game, I'd appreciate it. I'm losing my marbles trying to figure out the answer.
