Personally I felt the stick issue was blown out of proportion but if you replace them it's a non-issue anyway. Great device.

Daijisho is fantastic and very easy to set up. ES-DE which is a fork of emulation station is better in my opinion because it looks great and has some good options but it's a little bit harder to set up and costs a few bucks.
