Bilinear filter is still the best, maybe some scanlines if darker colors look better.
Anyone saying that the developers intended for X or Y on their graphics is full of shit, CRTs are radically different from one another and even on two of the same lines their settings can easily make a big difference.
Just be glad you are playing on an emulator were you can improve the graphics to your liking.
That being said xBRZ scaling is never good
