Honestly I think I'm getting past the point of waiting on others to translate shit for me and I'm looking to just take the plunge and learn the language already
Even with the occasional new translation popping up every couple of months, I don't want to get over reliant on them and the more anticipated stuff seems to take literal years to get done. A lot of what I want to play is too niche for other people to really give a shit about anyway, lots of NEC PC games and WonderSwan stuff
You also have the obnoxious Twitter-obsessed progressivist faglords who are actively involved with J-to-E translations with all sorts of Japanese media now who can't help themselves with either censoring content to better suit their personal values or punch up dialogue for the sake of it. That was frankly the last straw for me
